Step 1: Visit the UIDAI Aadhaar download website and click on the ‘Aadhaar Services’ section.

Step 2: Choose the ‘Lock/Unlock Biometric’ option, and you will be redirected to another page

Step 3: Provide your Aadhaar number.

Step 4: Key in various details from your Aadhaar card that includes the fields of – name, registered email, contact number, etc.

Step 5: Provide the security code provided on the screen and click on ‘Send OTP’ to progress to another verification page.

Step 6: Enter this OTP number that you receive on your registered contact number to start the login for the next phase of verification.

Step 7: Now, your biometric status is displayed on the screen, and you need to enter the provided security number to enable or disable the lock.

It is followed by a message on the registered contact number stating that your biometric has been locked.

Tip 2: Update your Aadhaar details only at designated UIDAI enrolment centres

To prevent misuse of Aadhaar details, make sure to approach the designated UIDAI enrolment centres that are listed in their site. To ease the offline update process for Aadhaar details, the authoritative body has set up multiple enrolment centres that cater to the requirement of the applicants.
